Sometimes an adoption placement does not fit the needs of the child. Typically this can be due to advanced emotional or psychological issues that occurred prior to the adoption, especially in older children. In these situations, it is important to recognize that there is no fault when the goal of the parties is to best serve the needs of the child.
Finding a secondary placement can be a challenge. It can take a while to find a proper placement for a child and to provide the proper transition period for them to acclimate to their new surroundings and new family. We encourage each party to be represented by an attorney in this matter and we can assist in the process of finding a secondary home or if you have already reached that stage we can assist with the legal process of finalizing a secondary adoption.
