Emily has been handling adoptions exclusively since 2009 when she began working with Thomas Lowndes, who is now retired. She is also a Quad A attorney. Emily has authored materials for an adoption seminar presented by the South Carolina Bar.
Emily is a native of Charleston and graduated from the College of Charleston with degrees in History and Studio Art. She received her J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and her LLM from the University of Miami Law School.
Emily became an attorney because her passion is helping people. In the community, she is an active member of First Baptist Church of Charleston and previously served on the board of the Charleston Miracle League. When she is not chasing her active little boy, Emily enjoys photography, cooking and spending time on the water when she can. She is married and is an adoptive mom herself.
Katherine began working under Emily as an extern during her second year of law school. She has continued working with the firm as an associate since becoming a member of the South Carolina Bar.
Katherine is originally from Ellerslie, Georgia and graduated from Brenau University with a degree in Conflict Resolution. She graduated with her J.D. from Charleston School of Law in May of 2021 and joined the firm as an associate after being sworn in to the South Carolina Bar in October of 2021. Katherine is also admitted to the Georgia Bar and Alabama Bar.
Katherine works remotely for the practice now as she and her husband reside in Georgia. Katherine enjoys attending St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and is actively involved in the management of her family farm. When she is not trying to get cows back in their field, she enjoys chasing her toddler around and riding horses when she can.
